Colonial Swedish Girl

I love this outfit.  I look one part colonial one part Swedish milk maid. And. I. Love. It. I bought this skirt for $12 at Forever 21 this winter knowing it would be the perfect piece for spring.  I was not wrong.  The color is so lovely, its so easy to wear.  Nothing makes me happier than getting something that works out as well as this skirt has. Also, speaking of Swedish milk maid, I am planning a trip to Sweden for August and getting really excited about it! I have wanted to go my whole life (my father's family originates from Sweden) and we are finally planning it! You can expect a lot of updates about that along the way because I honestly can not contain myself.  If anyone has been to Sweden and has some tips or places I should check out, let me know!

Etsy Everything - Pepper Ink

Over the past 6 years I've gotten an average of a tattoo a year.  I love them all and every one of them means something special to me, but sometimes I see other people's tattoos and I think"Ooo I want that one!" and not permanently, I just think it looks really cool right then.  I get tattoo envy all the time, but its pretty fleeting.  When I found Pepper Ink on Etsy I got pretty excited. It's a whole shop of temporary tattoos! And really fun ones. I picked out four of my favorites, but honestly there are so many different tattoos on there that if these don't do it for you there is probably something at the shop that you'd like.

That Pocket Vinyl Video I Was In

Last year our friends from Pocket Vinyl made a music video for their song "I Hear Colors" and asked us to help out. It was so much fun! Pocket Vinyl is a band in which Eric plays the piano and sings original songs while Elizabeth paints on stage.  It is so incredibly fun to watch.  Separately they are talented people, but as a combination they are ridiculously entertaining.  I wanted to share this video with all of you for two reasons.  Firstly, I had so much fun working on it and it turned out great, so I wanted everyone to see it.  Secondly, the video is nominated for best video at the Whalies this year and you should vote for it! What are the Whalies, you ask? Every year a few creative individuals from New London put on a Whalies Award Show, a hometown version of the Grammys for bands from New London.  I went last year for the first time and it was really fun. I'm looking forward to going again.

If you do vote they are nominated for a few other categories and my friend James Maple of GraveRobbers is nominated  for Best Alt Folk as well.  Vote for him and check out his music if you get a chance.  He is currently on tour and another incredibly talented person.  Let me know in the comments if you voted and what you think!

Lacy Dresses In The Shade

Happy Monday, all! I hope everyone is having a good start to the week. I find that after a jam packed, fun filled weekend Mondays just seem a little more bearable.  It's like the joy of the weekend just hasn't worn off yet.  Yesterday we spent Mother's Day morning making and eating brunch with Chris's mom and then went to my parents house to grill.  It was really nice to be able to see both of our families in one day. These photos were taken by Chris at my parent's house.

I love both this hat and dress, and I'm really into both together.  I got this hat back in January during the Cyber Monday Sale at Need Supply.  Since it's been getting nice out I've been wearing it non stop.  This dress is the perfect lace dress I had been searching for it, it was only $24 at H&M.  Unfortunately, I've bought 2 other white dresses in the last year before I found this one and they really do not compare.  I should have just waited till I found this one! I would have saved myself some money and disappointment.  Oh well, lesson learned. (be patient)
